How solar installers get more enquiries.
Most solar companies do not need more traffic first. They need a clearer offer, a faster reply and a way to see which ads bring booked visits.
Where solar enquiries come from
For most installers, enquiries come from four places: referrals from past customers, Google searches, Facebook and Instagram ads, and subsidy or comparison pages. Referrals bring the best customers, but you cannot turn them up when the schedule is empty. Ads and search can be turned up, which is why they need a system behind them.
Start with one clear offer
Homeowners compare several installers before they decide. A page that only says "solar power plants for your home" looks like everyone else. A page that says where you install, roughly what it costs and how long it takes gives them a reason to contact you first.
- Region. Name the cities and districts you actually cover.
- Price guide. A starting price per kW or a typical system price, so people can see if you fit their budget.
- Timeline. From the first call to a working system, in weeks.
- Proof. Photos of real installations, reviews and the brands you install.
Give people a calculator
Most homeowners want an estimate before they talk to anyone. A simple calculator that asks for the monthly electricity bill and shows an approximate system size and payback gives them that, and it brings better enquiries than a blank contact form. Ask for contact details at the end, when they already want the full estimate.
Reply within minutes, not hours
A homeowner who sends an enquiry in the evening often sends two more to other installers. The company that replies first, with a clear next step, usually gets the site visit. Set up an instant SMS and email that says who will call and when, then call as early as you can during working hours. More on this in why the first reply usually wins.
Follow up until they decide
Solar is a large purchase, and many people wait for a subsidy decision, a partner's opinion or a better time. A short sequence of messages over two weeks, with answers to common questions and one real example, keeps you in the conversation without being pushy.
Measure four numbers every week
- Enquiries by source: ads, Google and referrals.
- Cost per enquiry for paid ads.
- Booked visits or calls with a quote.
- Signed projects and their value.
Clicks and likes do not pay for installations. If you know these four numbers, you know where to move the budget next week.
